Coolpix AW100
The Nikon AW100 is the first camera in the new Coolpix All Weather line. It’s a rugged compact that’s waterproof down to 10 metres for up to one hour, shockproof to a drop of 1.5 metres and freeze-proof for temperatures as low as -10C.
The Nikon AW100 lens is located in the top-right corner when viewed front on, shielded by a clear lens cover that is open when the camera is turned off and on. The Coolpix AW100 lens is a 5x zoom of the internally stacked variety, so it does not extend upon power-up or zooming. In 35mm equivalency, it spans focal lengths ranging from 28mm to 140mm.

Nikon AW100 – Best tough camera
Just got this Nikon AW100 camera last week, It takes great pictures even when there is not much light. It feels well built and very compact. the panorama is the easiest i have ever used. Nikon AW100 processing speed is fast with no or little shutter lag. Very cool that this will shoot slow motion video. The gps function with a world map is very cool especially for those traveling. If you are using the gps you might want to buy extra batteries as it makes the camera less miserly with it on. it is nice that it has seperate caqmera and video buttons and a movie light is also nice as it will give some good fill lighting. All in all a great camera with lots of features. The Nikon AW100 zoom is only 5x but that is a good thing. the new megazoom cameras do not give sharp pictures which is why i picked this camera over the L 120.

I just got this Nikon AW100 camera a week ago for my trip to the Bahamas. It has been fantastic so far. Nikon AW100 has a quick shutter and holds still better than I do
I really wanted it for the underwater adventure that I did. I submerged it in 20′ deep water and it’ stayed sealed so no water got in at all. I was very surprised. The quality is also spectacular for a 16 mp 5x optical zoom. I’d have to say I am impressed. If you’re rough on cameras like I am then Nikon AW100 is the perfect camera for you.
